Pressotherapy for fluid retention and tired legs

Pressotherapy is a mechanical massage that applies controlled pressure to the body to improve the feeling of heavy legs and fluid retention. It is one of the most requested treatments in spring and summer. We explain how it works and what the session at Estetika Masane includes.

What pressotherapy is

It consists of applying controlled pneumatic pressure through boots or sleeves that inflate and deflate following a wave pattern. That rhythmic movement promotes a draining feeling and helps relieve heaviness.

It is not a manual massage: the machine performs the work constantly and evenly, which allows the exact pressure to be maintained throughout the session.

What it is used for

The most common reason for consultation is the feeling of heavy, tired legs, especially at the end of the day or after many hours standing.

It is also used when there is a feeling of fluid retention, swelling of the ankles and legs, and as part of body programmes for tired legs during pregnancy or in people with a very sedentary lifestyle.

What the session at Estetika Masane includes

Pressotherapy includes a welcome ritual with aromatherapy, designed to enhance the result and to help you calm down before starting.

At the end of the session there is the option of adding a massage, which complements the treatment and leaves a more noticeable feeling of lightness.

The individual session costs €45. The 6-session programme costs €244 and is the most recommended option when seeking sustained progress.

When it is a good idea

Any time of year, but especially in spring and summer, when the feeling of tired legs is heightened by the heat.

We work by appointment, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, at Iturribide kalea 6, Zarautz.
